Pulp Nature contributor Hannah Tice just moved to the West Coast! And we are so excited for her to be sampling autoimmune friendly restaurants in Portland, and of course sharing her reviews with you! Enjoy!
If you can’t escape to Mexico this summer, bring the beach and taco shacks to you. Tacombi in Nolita (just east of Soho in Manhattan), offers a range of delicious tacos and freshly pressed juices.
Boxes of fragrant oranges, limes, and lemons decorate this festive restaurant while beachside music brings tropical appeal.
Gluten-free corn tortillas are made from scratch everyday and served as the vessel to crispy fish or roasted vegetables. Each table holds three bottles of signature Tacombi sauce: verde (a kick in the pants spicy), chipotle (creamy with a touch of heat), and hibiscus (sweet and tangy). Add one or two sauces to your entree but restrain from drinking a whole bottle (yes, they’re that good).
A meal wouldn’t be complete without a refreshing beverage. Try the agua de sandia (watermelon juice), horchata (rice milk with cinnamon), or jugo verde (celery, kale, pineapple, and mint). Prices are more than reasonable and make for a great first date or casual lunch with friends.
